Does Outsource Packaging offer a full packaging service?
Yes, Outsource Packaging follows the concept of delivering a 360º
packaging solution - including customised design, product
manufacture, packing of crates and containers.
How does Outsource Packaging deal with timber fumigation?
Officially recognised and registered with the National Department of
Agriculture, Outsource Packaging is permitted to fumigate all
export-destined crates. As an alternative to fumigation, we offer
heat-treated timber. Outsource Packaging provides customers who make
use of timber treated in this manner, with a heat-treated
certificate of authenticity with each crate it supplies.
What is heat-treated timber?
Timber is heat treated to a specified 74ºC in a kiln for a period of
4 - 10 hours depending on timber thickness. All living infestations
are removed from the timber via this treatment process. This form of
timber is then ready for export with an accompanying certificate of
approval.
Can you package break bulk commodities?
Yes. To date Outsource Packaging has packed commodities of up to 50
tons. It is our business philosophy to make a plan and design a
timber structure to literally pack anything!
Do you pack shipping containers / flat racks?
Yes. We do anything from 6m/12m GPs, 6m/12m High Cubes, 6m/12m Open
Tops and Flat Racks. As per their specific requirements, we offer
our customers the capabilities to chock and strap any commodities.
Do you manufacture cardboard boxes?
No. Outsource Packaging does not manufacture any shape or form of
cardboard boxes. See our list of products/services via our site home
page or click here. [link to services]
What is corrosion control?
Outsource Packaging offers customers the benefits of full
anti-corrosion solutions. Certain packaging techniques and materials
prevent commodities from being corroded by the elements such as sea,
air and inclement weather e.g. rust appearing on metal goods.
Are industrial crates waterproof?
No, as they are made from timber. Outsource Packaging can, however,
waterproof its crates to a certain degree, by using plastic and
cling-wrap to protect both the crate and its commodities.
What is your turn around time?
Outsource Packaging commits itself to quality and service delivery.
We will make every effort possible to meet our client's
needs/deadlines, negotiating the best turnaround time, without
compromising quality. We will also work overtime if necessary to
satisfy demand.
What is a single / double entry base?
A single-entry base is a base design that allows the crate to be
lifted on two opposite sides of the crate. A double-entry base
allows the crate to be lifted on all four side of the crate.
Does Outsource Packaging offer on-site packaging?
Yes, should the project require a dedicated Outsource Packaging team
to pack on-site.
What is ISPM 15?
The recognised International Standard to which both Outsource
Packaging's heat-treated timber and fumigated timber complies. The
standard ensures timber is fit for cross-border transport and
overseas exportation.
Do your staff members have forklift / crane licences?
Yes, a number of Outsource Packaging staff members possess both
licences. Outsource Packaging can furnish copies of on-site team
member’s licences if required.
Do you deliver?
Yes. If delivery is required as part of a client’s packaging needs,
these charges are included in the Outsource Packaging job quotation.
What is an on-site operation?
Outsource Packaging, as an independent organisation, sets up a
packaging facility on a company site or project location. This may
be a permanent agreement or for a specific project-based period.
